FAQ

Do you Travel?

I am available for travel with a little notice! Travel out of state or greater than 3 hours from Birmingham, Alabama does requires a nominal fee.

How long have you been doing this?

I turned Serah Watts Photography, LLC into a fully formed business in 2021, though I've been photographing much longer! I took some time away from the camera to finish nursing school and have a baby, but all in all I have about 8 years of experience!

How many photos do I get?

All my packages located in the "Investment" tab list how many photos are included in the package of your choosing!

How do we get our photos?

all photos are delivered via digital, downloadable gallery and include both High Resolution and Web Sized images. You also have an option to purchase prints any time from the professional lab I contract with.

Do you retouch photos?

All photos delivered are professional edited! Upon your request, I will whiten teeth and retouch blemished, but I do not edit your body in any way! That's what makes you, YOU, and I encourage self love here.

What equipment do you shoot with?

I currently utilize a Sony Alpha Series 7RIV. It is a mirrorless camera that comes equipped with 61MP and dual slot card readers. It is my baby! I also keep a Sony Alpha Series A6400 as back up - just in case!

What is your turn around time?

Normal sessions take about 2 to 4 weeks to be delivered, and weddings take anywhere from 10 to 12 weeks!

Can you help us with planning?

Absolutely! For all sessions, I offer complimentary wardrobe planning assistance so all your photos are timeless and classic. I will also help you choose a time of day for the best lighting so we can ensure your photos are as beautiful as you.

How Far out do you book?

My sessions and weddings are highly demanded services so I absolutely recommend you book me as early as possible! I only accept a very limited number of portrait sessions and weddings per year.

What should we wear?

In short? Whatever you want! However, I do have some recommendations to assist you in getting the most out of your session. The goal of the most cherished photographs is to focus on the person and emotion, not necessarily your clothing and background - we don't want either to be too distracting from our goal - YOU! Here is a list of things to consider when planning your attire:

Wear longer sleeves if you are conscious or hyper aware of your arms/body in photos - wear something that flatters your favorite part of your body! Be careful to avoid clothes that are too tight to avoid panty lines.
Get dressed up! Casual is great too - but you want to avoid clothing that is "too casual" such as ripped jeans or shorts, "short shorts", etc.
Avoid large, bold patterns as well as text on clothing - it is very distracting and you want your photos to appear timeless!
Avoid being too "matchy matchy" in color - we want to showcase each participant as an individual! You can never go wrong with a neutral color palette.
Wear your favorite color!
A shapely dress can be very flattering - A-line dresses almost never disappoint!
Guys - please refrain from wearing hats. Also, I highly recommend a good suit or sports coat! Layers work just as well on men as they do on women.
For engagement sessions (and weddings!) - it's always, always, ALWAYS a good idea to clean your ring before you come!
